Volunteer with us
The Mt Gravatt Community Centre is looking for volunteers to help serve our community!
Join our vibrant and diverse team to help deliver services at the community centre, and get the added benefits of meeting new people, gaining experience in the not-for-profit sector, and doing meaningful work in your local area, and engaging with our community members.
We are currently looking for volunteer bus drivers who can commit once a month for our Seniors’ Day Trips, and twice weekly for Food Donation Collection. We are also looking for help in our food pantry, emergency relief, assisting with forms, social group support, and administration/data entry.
Food relief
We support our community members who are in need of immediate food assistance. We identify the most appropriate support to offer, and relief may include food parcels and referrals for financial assistance to other services.
We need your assistance in stocking our food pantry shelves, arrangingfood parcels, and picking up food donations from our partner organisations.
Emergency relief
Emergency relief is provided by organisations like ourselves to help our community members who find themselves in financial distress or hardship in a time of crisis. We provide emergency relief by appointment only, and we need you help in assisting our community members with their appointments.
Social group & activities
There are a number of social groups and activities we have weekly at our community centre. As a volunteer you can participate in these social groups and activities, or even volunteer in some of our big events. If you also have a skill you would like to share with others, you can talk to us about starting a new social group!
These are just some of the volunteering roles we have available for you at the community centre. Please contact us today to apply or determine your eligibility. Ideally, you already hold a Blue Card (Working With Children Check), but we are happy to assist you in lodging your application.
To apply or learn more about this opportunity, email ncc@mgcci.org.au or phone us on 3343 9833.
